Our short day trips can be offshore or inshore, they can run various distances depending on your budget and the target species.
We usually like to concentrate on lure fishing for predatory fish by casting soft plastics, stick baits and occasionally even fly fishing from the bow. If conditions and depths allow we also use slow jigging techniques.
We target big wrasse, pollack and bass and fish various reefs and rough ground. Often stealth fishing in shallower water over rocky gullies and kelp beds.
Weedless set ups can be really useful, on light gear, this is serious rod bending action!
We also fish the inshore wrecks, here we use slow pitch jigging, lead headed lures (vertical and traction techniques) and traditional flying collar rigs with rubber eels or shads.
Another option is drifting with ragworm or prawn baits for Plaice on the famous Skerries Banks, enjoy a mix of 4 hours here and 4 hours fishing the wrecks or sightseeing?
We are also happy to cater for beginners. There can be some great mackerel fishing around Torbay, here we fish with feathers and can also catch herring, garfish and the really tasty scad. Mackerel trips are usually shorter, between 2 and 3 hours.
I will advise on what’s best to suit the conditions and the time of year, I’m also happy to provide tuition and help throught the day.
